What is the Visionary founder archetype and what's the downside?

Framework: The Visionary · Chapter: Appendix 2: Archetypes

Kris Kluver, in The Dysfunctional Family Office, names the Visionary as a vision-focused founder who sees opportunities and paths forward that others cannot. The strength is what built the company. The Visionary spots what others miss, moves before the market, and constructs futures other people can't yet see. The weakness shows up with family. The Visionary becomes frustrated when children don't share the same vision or passion. They struggle to understand that their unique wiring isn't inherited. They project their own framing onto kids who think differently and read the kids' different framing as failure or disengagement. The pattern often pairs with the Artist rising-gen archetype to produce Parallel Tracks. The Visionary is frustrated the Artist won't follow. The Artist is frustrated they're not seen. Mutual dismissal. The fix is for the Visionary to recognize that the kids' different wiring is real, not wrong, and to build space for the family to thrive in directions the Visionary wouldn't have chosen alone.
